Exploring COLOR AND TEXTURE in Watercolor
This workshop is devoted to expanding possibilities in watercolor, using innovative techniques to create a painting and stimulate new ways of thinking. We will begin with a randomly textured wet-in-wet underpainting, and develop the subject by means of negative glazes and pattern embellishments, leading to individual pathways of expression. Color exploration, design, and a good understanding of technical skills will be emphasized throughout. There will be several brief demos as we go along and an individual critique at the end. Carol is a gifted and inspiring teacher. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, whose works have been published in Splash 11, Watercolor Artist and The Artistic Touch 4. Her paintings have been exhibited in over 170 national and international juried shows, and have earned her over 70 awards. Carol’s clear, well thought out explanations, coupled with her enthusiasm for watercolor, are what have prompted numerous students to call her “the best watercolor teacher” they have had!
